How It All Started…
2003 – Allenwood, NJ
Dynamic Engineering was incorporated in 2003 and officially opened for business on April 1, 2004. Jeffrey Spalt and John Palus launched Dynamic Engineering with a healthy dose of excitement and trepidation. Given the limited resources available at the time, our first “office” was set up in the basement of the Spalt household.
Within the first year of operations, we quickly established ourselves as knowledgeable and attentive consultants who could operate in an efficient and responsive manner while delivering high quality design and service for a fraction of what the large engineering firms would charge for a lesser consulting experience. This resulted in immediate success and growth through the first year of operation. As a result, we quickly outgrew our basement headquarters and relocated to Lake Como, New Jersey.
2004 – Lake Como, NJ
Dynamic Engineering entered its first lease in September of 2004 in a small office in the tiny Borough of West Belmar, NJ. Within less than a month of creating and stocking up on our first letterhead, envelopes and business cards, the wise leaders of the Borough of West Belmar voted to change the name of the Borough to Lake Como. With our new address established, we ordered all new stationery and continued operation of our growing business and staff.
2004 – Chester, NJ
Concurrently in 2004, Joe Jaworski was in the process of undertaking a similar challenge of starting an engineering and land development consulting business at his house in Chester, New Jersey. At the time, Joe was still renovating his house, so his initial office arrangements were both frugal and mobile. Nonetheless, the business experienced immediate success and it did not take long for Jeff, John, and Joe to realize that they shared an ideology and complementary skill sets that would only serve to make the sum greater than its parts. Joe merged with Dynamic Engineering in 2005 and things really started to heat up.
2006 – Chester, NJ
The very next year, Brett Skapinetz expressed interest in helping establish a greater presence at our Chester office location. Brett joined Dynamic in July 2006 and has worked side by side with Joe in Chester every day since.
Since the inception of Dynamic Engineering we have protected our reputation by maintaining the highest standards of engineering aptitude and business etiquette. We have maintained an unwavering focus on the well-being and success of our personnel.
We have built a team comprised of the premier land development consulting and engineering talent in the industry. We have continued to uphold the highest standards of service and quality while remaining committed to operating efficiently and with minimized overhead so as to ensure our services can be delivered at a value to our clients. Our clientele appreciate that we operate with a focus on how their money is being spent both in design and through the permitting and entitlement process. As a result, we are being continuously introduced to new and exciting opportunities.
2007 – Dynamic Earth is Launched
These opportunities led to the formation of additional branches on the Dynamic family tree. In 2007 we partnered with longtime friend and colleague Jeffrey Schaumburg, PE and launched Dynamic Earth, our Geotechnical and Environmental Services company. Dynamic Earth has been on the forefront of geotechnical engineering and environmental services since its inception.
2011 – Welcomes Mark Whitaker, Director
In 2011, Dynamic attracted another significant leader in the industry to join our partnership. Mark Whitaker joined Dynamic as a partner and principal in May 2011 and quickly established himself as a leader and visionary. Under Mark’s direction, Dynamic has grown and flourished within our core operating area in NJ as well as in expanded geographical areas including New England, the Mid-Atlantic, the Midwest and beyond. Mark’s unique capabilities to integrate the Dynamic culture into the framework of a client’s team are both respected and valued by our clients across the nation.
2012 – Dynamic Traffic is Launched
In early 2012, we partnered with another longtime friend and well-respected traffic engineer, Nicholas Verderese, PE, PTOE to bring Dynamic Traffic into our family. When Nick joined the firm, he had over 20 years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning. Then, in 2014, Dynamic Traffic merged with Staigar Peregoy LLC. At that time, Joseph Staigar, PE, PTOE joined Dynamic Traffic bringing his 30 years of traffic engineering and transportation planning experience.
2013 – Dynamic crosses the Delaware River
Dynamic has always taken the cue from our clients when our services have been requested in areas outside of our core geographic area. When our clients expressed the need for our expertise and our brand of service in Pennsylvania, we responded by opening our office in Newtown, PA in early 2013. Today, Dynamic Engineering, Dynamic Earth, Dynamic Traffic and Dynamic Survey are all operational out of our relocated and expanded office in Newtown. Justin Geonnotti leads the operations in Newtown as we continue to grow and prosper in the PA marketplace.
2013 – Dynamic Survey is Launched
Also in 2013, we teamed with another friend of the firm, Craig Black, PE, PLS, to create Dynamic Survey. Craig had a substantial amount of experience as both a land and marine surveyor. We capitalized on this opportunity to create a surveying company that has the ability to produce high quality land and marine surveys with a focus on value and service. Craig brings a unique perspective as a Professional Land Surveyor and Professional Engineer during construction, offering his exceptional insight as a dually trained and licensed professional during construction.
2014 – Dynamic Opens in Texas
In 2014, Dynamic formalized its operational presence in the Midwest by starting offices in the Dallas and Houston, Texas markets. Josh Edge joined Dynamic in 2014 to start our first Texas regional office in the Dallas suburb of Allen. Josh has established Dynamic as a unique option for Texas based developers looking for a level of service and value previously unavailable in the area. Josh also oversees Dynamic Engineering operations in our satellite office in Houston.
2015 – Dynamic Expands into Toms River, NJ
Once again we found ourselves following the needs of our clientele in 2015. Here we established a new office in Ocean County, NJ in the county seat of Toms River. Our Toms River office is captained by Matt Sharo and Kyle Kavinski who lead our team serving a multitude of our clients throughout New Jersey with a specific focus on our projects along the NJ coast.
2018 – Dynamic Heats up in Florida
There is a strong connection between the Northeast and the great state of Florida. This connection is especially true among our clients who found themselves seeking the same Dynamic experience they enjoy in New Jersey for the projects they work on in the Florida market. In 2018, Dynamic opened our first Florida office in wonderful Delray Beach. Our Delray Beach office is commanded by lifelong Floridian, Mike Miles, who combines local and state experience with the Dynamic way of doing business.
2019 – Dynamic Established in Newark, NJ
After several years of experiencing significant growth of our business in the northeast counties of NJ, we determined it would be both efficient and convenient to our clients and employees if we were to open an office that is immediately accessible to the metropolitan nucleus of the state. In 2019 we opened our Newark, NJ office within the Robert Treat building. The office is strategically located near the Newark PAC, Military Park, and within walking distance of Newark Penn Station as well as a multitude of other downtown landmarks.
2020 – Dynamic Extends to Belmar, NJ
In spite of the challenges posed by the pandemic, Dynamic forged ahead with an expansion of office space in Monmouth County by fitting out and opening an office in the Belmar Plaza adjacent to the train station in Belmar, NJ. This office provides additional space for growth while maintaining close proximity to our corporate headquarters in Lake Como, NJ and our financial services group office just down the street in Wall, NJ.
2021 – Dynamic Expands to Lehigh Valley, PA
In response to a growing workload in the Lehigh Valley area and a desire to locally service more of our clientele in this region, Dynamic proceeded to open an office in Bethlehem, PA. Our Lehigh Valley office is led by Steve Walsh who has extensive experience in the area. Steve is local to Lehigh Valley and even obtained his engineering degree locally from Lehigh University. Our Lehigh Valley office is off and running and actively growing as we continue to expand our footprint in the area.
2021 – Dynamic Spreads Out to Philadelphia, PA
In response to our client’s needs and our desire to provide more accessible office space for some of our Philadelphia based personnel, Dynamic opened a new office in Center City Philadelphia. Our Philly office is headed up by our long-time local Philadelphia resident Katherine Weiss who brings a great deal of Philly-centric knowledge and experience to Dynamic to serve our Philadelphia area clientele. We still have not solved the on-going debate of where the best cheesesteak can be found, but we haven’t given up yet.
2022 – Dynamic Heads to the Annapolis, MD
As Dynamic has increased our presence in Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia metro area, and suburbs we have been exposed to project opportunities in the surrounding areas, which has come to include the States of Maryland and Virginia. The logical choice for our next regional office made itself immediately apparent in Annapolis, Maryland. Our branch manager in our Annapolis office is Connor McManus, who brings his local knowledge, experience, and relationships to Dynamic to cornerstone our foundation for growth in the Maryland, Baltimore, and DC Metro areas. We are off to a strong start with this newest office and excited for the growth opportunities it presents to us.
The future is bright for Dynamic. The healthy culture and strong technical capabilities offered by our partners and staff provide for the foundation needed for strategic growth as necessary to meet the ever expanding needs of our clients. We will continue to respond to our clients in such a way as to offer them the professional services they need, when and where they need them.
