Mr. Backman serves as a Principal of Dynamic Earth’s environmental consulting services division. Dynamic Earth is a specialized firm offering expertise in Geotechnical Engineering and Environmental Consulting services.

Mr. Backman has over 30 years of experience in the environmental consulting and site remediation field. He was one of the first professionals to achieve accreditation with the State of New Jersey as a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP).

He served on various stakeholder committees to assist the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection with the development and implementation of Site Remediation Reform Act. He has continued this work since enactment to continue to refine and improve the rules and regulations. He has applied his expertise to projects ranging from industrial and manufacturing companies, banks, engineering firms, major oil companies, national retail and restaurant chains, developers, emergency response contractors, residential entities, environmental groups, and government entities.

Mr. Backman has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Susquehanna University ’91 and served on the Board of Directors for the Friends of Belmar Harbor as President.
